An exciting opportunity has arisen for a time-served Service Engineer, with a strong electrical bias and background in automotive systems, to provide fitting and repair services for our equipment on materials handling and industrial vehicles at customer sites around the UK, with the majority in the north-east, north-west and Scotland.

You will be supplied with appropriate PPE, phone, laptop, and modern and fully-equipped van, and training as necessary. The majority of time will be spent on the road, exact hours are dependent on customer requirements, with appropriate remuneration for overtime.

You will have the ability to swiftly and expertly diagnose faults, and complete the appropriate repair professionally and to the highest standard, while conducting yourself in a friendly, courteous, and enthusiastic manner.

We have a varied customer base, and you must be able to work in a wide variety of environments, and work on your own initiative. You will also be required to complete paper-based job reports upon completion.

Testing Essential Skills:

  • Solid experience as a vehicle engineer or mechanic, preferably with forklifts.
  • Strong electrical knowledge.
  • City & Guilds in mechanics or equivalent qualification.
  • Be well-organised, methodical and process-driven.
  • Ability to think outside the box, adept at finding solutions.
  • Good at managing own workload and able to cope with pressure.
  • Present a professional image, be punctual and polite, with a focus on providing customer satisfaction.

Competitive salary dependent on experience, 25 days holiday.
